COMPUTER
- A computer is an electronic device that processes data and performs tasks according to a set of instructions called a program. It can handle a wide variety of tasks, from simple calculations to complex operations. Computers consist of hardware and software components. The hardware includes physical components such as the central processing unit (CPU), memory, storage devices, and input/output devices. The software consists of programs and operating systems that control the computer's functions.
- Computers can be categorized into various types, including personal computers (PCs), laptops, servers, mainframes, and supercomputers, each designed for specific purposes and varying in terms of processing power and capabilities.
- The fundamental operations of a computer involve input, processing, storage, and output of data. Input devices, such as keyboards and mice, allow users to provide data to the computer. The CPU processes the data, and the results are stored in memory or long-term storage. Finally, output devices, such as monitors or printers, display or produce the processed information.
- Computers have become essential tools in various aspects of modern life, playing a crucial role in areas such as business, education, communication, entertainment, and scientific research.
